We work with Indian sandstone, limestone, granite, porcelain, and block paving. Each material has different strengths — sandstone offers warmth and character, porcelain gives a clean modern look with minimal maintenance, and block paving works well for driveways and paths.
We’ll help you choose the right material for your space and budget. We bring physical samples to your property so you can see how they look against your house and in natural light — not just in a brochure photo.
Every patio starts with proper preparation. We excavate to the correct depth, lay a compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base, and apply a full mortar bed. No shortcuts — skipping the sub-base is the most common reason patios sink, crack, or collect puddles.
We set accurate falls (a slight slope) to direct rainwater away from your property and into the garden or drainage system. Joints are pointed with a flexible, weather-resistant compound that won’t crack through frost cycles.
A straightforward patio of around 15–20 square metres typically costs between £2,500 and £5,000 depending on the material. Natural stone and porcelain sit at the higher end, block paving at the lower. Larger areas, complex patterns, or stepped patios cost more.
Our quotes include everything — excavation, sub-base, materials, labour, and waste removal. The price you’re quoted is the price you pay. We don’t add hidden extras for groundwork or skip hire.
Patio Installation Across London
We install patios for homeowners across London, from compact courtyard gardens to large rear patios and full garden paving projects.
It depends on your priorities. Porcelain is extremely durable, stain resistant, and barely needs cleaning — ideal for busy households. Indian sandstone has more natural variation and character but requires occasional sealing. Block paving is cost effective and easy to repair if individual blocks settle.
For shaded or north-facing gardens, we often recommend porcelain because it resists algae growth better than natural stone. We’ll talk you through the options during your site visit and recommend what works best for your specific garden.
A properly installed patio should last 20 years or more with minimal maintenance. The key is in the groundwork — the sub-base depth, the compaction, and the drainage falls. We don’t rush these steps because they’re what separate a patio that lasts from one that doesn’t.
We photograph each stage of the build so you can see the sub-base and preparation work before it’s covered. This gives you confidence that the foundations are right, and it’s a useful record if you ever need to access services running beneath the patio.
